WHAT IS AN OMBUDSMAN?A long-term care ombudsman is an advocate for residents of long-term care facilities (assisted living, nursing homes, residential care homes). Residents can call on them at any time for a range of concerns, such as: Quality of Care, Abuse or Neglect, Food and Nutrition, Living conditions, Improper Evictions. Upon receiving the complaint, ombudsmen conduct investigations and work to resolve the issue with the residents best interest in mind. Ombudsman services are free and available to any resident in a long-term care facility setting.
